As a freelancer or solopreneur, the answer is “Duh! Of course!”
Even for entrepreneurs who have several employees, disappearing for a week could cripple their businesses… unless they have built-in systems.
I came to this “obvious realization” after a recent medical problem (which I overreacted to).
It reminded me to start developing low-maintenance businesses that do not rely on me too much.
Is that even possible? Of course it is.
Here are some simple examples:
- own a network of vending machines
- write books and earn royalties
- rent out spaces for billboards
What about your business? Is it too dependent on your presence? What can you do about it?
